AND nab 32 dealers in nationwide anti-drug crackdown

Alanbatnews - The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 32 drug dealers and seized various quantities of narcotics, announced the Public Security Department (PSD) in a statement on Tuesday.

The PSD's spokesperson stated that 11 people were arrested in the capital, noting that three of the suspects were found in possession of various amounts of Hashish and narcotics.

In two separate raids also in Amman, the AND personnel seized various amounts of narcotic pills, synthetic cannabis powder (locally known as Joker), and crystal meth, apprehending 6 people in the process, he said.

In Ramtha, large amounts of synthetic cannabis powder were found in a water drainage line,the spokesperson said, adding that investigation is underway to apprehend those responsible.

Other drug busts were carried out in the Irbid, Zarqa, Balqa,and Maan governorates, resulting in the arrest of 19 people and the confiscation of various amounts of narcotics.
