Alanbatnews - Israeli Occupation Authorities on Wednesday closed the historic Al-Fardis road, east of Bethlehem, with a barbed-wire fence, according to a Palestinian source.

A statement by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Committee in Bethlehem said that Israeli authorities closed the 10-km historic road leading to the Dead Sea on the pretext that it is an archeological site.

"The Israeli procedure will deprive Palestinian citizens of accessing their land and thus emigrate, leaving it to be seized by settlers," it added.

Al-Fardis area and its surroundings have been exposed for years to similar attacks, confiscation of land, seizure of solar panels and evacuation warnings in the Zawahra neighborhood.
