Blast at Indonesian police warehouse holding WWII munitions

Alanbatnews - An explosion went off on Saturday in an Indonesian police warehouse, which contains munitions dating from World War Two.

According to Reuters, local police said one officer was injured, and nearby residents were evacuated.

Firefighters were deployed to tackle a blaze that the blast triggered, the police spokesperson stated, adding that the cause is being investigated.

The warehouse is in the Mobile Police Brigade headquarters in Srondol, close to the city of Semarang in Central Java province.
