Members of the Jordanian American Association of DC (JAADC) Monday came together to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the festival marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, as a community.
"We hope to capitalize on each and every occasion to bring our community members together to celebrate, to get to know each other and to strengthen ties between the members," noted Merissa Khurma, newly elected President of the JAADC.
"It was a pleasure to see Jordanian families in the DC, Virginia and Maryland area celebrate the Eid together with our executive committee members this past weekend," she added.
JAADC is a non-profit community-based organization that aims to provide Jordanian-Americans in the DC metro area with a civic, social, and philanthropic platform in order to unite and empower the community, strengthen ties Jordanians and Americans and promote Jordan's cultural heritage in the United States.
