OIC FMs meet in Jeddah to prepare for Mecca's Islamic Summit

Foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold their preparatory meeting for the OIC 14th summit, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in Mecca on Friday, under the slogan: (Together for the Future).

According to the Union of Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), OIC foreign ministers - which includes 57 member states - will submit the draft final statement to the Islamic Summit for the approval.

The summit, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the OIC, will discuss issues and challenges facing the Muslim world in order to crystallize a unified stance towards them.

The summit will discuss the issue of Palestine and refugees and the legal status of the city of Jerusalem.

The summit will also tackle the current situation in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Afghanistan, as well as recent developments related to the firing of rockets by Houthi militias towards the Saudi Arabia, which represents a flagrant aggression on the land of the Two Holy Mosques, and threatens regional and international security.

The summit will also address the issues of Muslim minorities, Islamophobia and other political, economic, cultural and social issues of concern to the organization.
