Anti-corruption lawyer Zuzana Caputova late Saturday won the second round of the Slovak presidential election to become Slovakia's first female president.

Caputova had 58.4 percent of the votes after results from 99.96 percent of voting districts were counted, ahead of the European Commissioner Vice-President Maros Sefcovic who took 41.6 percent.

She promised to be the president for all Slovaks, regardless of their national or religious affiliation or political position. The new president will take office on June 15.
