Suspect arrested in Irbid for possession of artefacts

Al-Anbat -Irbid Preventive Security Department personnel arrested a suspect with ancient artefacts in his possession and sent the seized items to the Department of Antiquities to determine their historical value.

Spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate Lieutenant Colonel Amer Sartawi said in a statement on Monday that the Preventive Security Department's personnel in Irbid have been following up for some days information about the possession of a person to a collection of antiquities in his house in the Hawara area in Irbid Governorate.

"After searching the house, the artifacts were seized," he said, noting that legal action will be taken against the suspect.
