AMMAN - Jordan's Oil Derivatives Pricing Committee has decided to increase the prices of gasoline and diesel for the month of March, while keeping the prices of kerosene and household gas cylinders unchanged, according to a statement.
The committee, which convened on Saturday, reviewed global crude oil and petroleum product prices during February, comparing them to those of January. The review revealed an increase in the global prices of both types of gasoline (90 and 95 octane) and diesel.
Consequently, the committee adjusted the selling price of 90-octane gasoline to 820 fils per liter, up from 810 fils per liter. The selling price of 95-octane gasoline was raised to 1050 fils per liter, from 1035 fils per liter. The price of diesel increased to 655 fils per liter, from 645 fils per liter.
The committee opted to maintain the selling price of kerosene at 550 fils per liter. The price of a 12.5 kg household gas cylinder will also remain unchanged at 7 Jordanian dinars per cylinder.
The average price of Brent crude oil rose to $71.5 per barrel in February, compared to $66.8 per barrel in January.
