The U.S. Embassy in Amman temporarily evacuated its compound in the Jordanian capital, citing a threat, according to an announcement made on Monday.
"Out of an abundance of caution, all U.S. Embassy personnel have temporarily departed the Embassy compound due to a reported threat," the embassy stated on its Facebook page.
The announcement follows recent reports of regional tensions. Jordan's Public Security Directorate reported that five individuals were injured, and 19 homes and 11 vehicles sustained damage following missile and drone launches. The Jordanian army had previously stated that its air defenses engaged with numerous ballistic missiles and drones, intercepting a portion of them.
