BEIRUT - Israeli forces announced the elimination of a commander from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) group in Lebanon during an operation in the Beirut area.
The commander, identified as Adham Adnan Al-Othman, was targeted in a raid, according to a statement released by the Israeli military.
Illa Waweya, a spokesperson for the Israeli army, confirmed the operation on social media platform X, stating that Al-Othman, described as a leading figure within the PIJ in Lebanon, was killed during the overnight operation in the Beirut region.
The Israeli military has yet to provide further details regarding the specific location within Beirut where the operation took place or the circumstances surrounding Al-Othman's death.
There has been no immediate reaction from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group regarding the reported death of their commander.
