Amman - Jordan's tourism sector faces potential disruptions as regional tensions, stemming from the Israeli-American conflict with Iran, begin to impact future bookings, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced. While current tourist groups within the Kingdom are proceeding with their itineraries without issue, concerns are mounting over potential cancellations in the coming months.

The ministry, in a press statement, revealed the formation of an emergency operations room, comprising representatives from the tourism sector and relevant authorities. This task force is in constant session, coordinating with official institutions to implement appropriate measures as the situation evolves.

Data indicates a noticeable impact on demand for upcoming group tours due to the prevailing circumstances. The ministry anticipates possible cancellations over the next three months if the current situation persists, potentially affecting the peak season months of March, April, and May.

Despite the regional instability, Jordan has kept its airspace open, with air traffic continuing based on assessments by competent authorities and in accordance with public safety considerations.

The Ministry emphasized its ongoing coordination with relevant bodies and urged visitors and citizens to stay informed through official updates. A hotline has been established with the Tourism Police (117777) for reporting emergencies or requesting assistance.
