Youth Sports Tournaments Kick Off in Prince Hamza City

Amman - Sports tournaments for youth have commenced at Prince Hamza City, organized by the Ministry of Youth as part of Ramadan youth center championships.

The tournaments, which began Thursday, include basketball, table tennis, and chess competitions, aiming to engage young people in sports during the holy month of Ramadan.

The basketball tournament is a three-day event, running from the 26th to the 28th, specifically designed for females aged 10 to 25. This initiative seeks to empower girls through sports and encourage their participation in physical activities.

The table tennis tournament, a two-day competition, will be held on the 27th and 28th of the month for male participants.

Meanwhile, the chess tournament, designed to attract a wide range of enthusiasts of mental sports, is scheduled for the 26th and 27th, and is open to both genders and all age groups.

According to Ahmad Al-Hasan, director of Prince Hamza City, the city is committed to providing a safe and motivating environment for all participants. He noted that the Ramadan tournaments serve as a vital platform for identifying talent and honing the skills of young men and women.

Al-Hasan added that Prince Hamza City believes in the importance of sports in building the character of young people and promoting the values of teamwork and discipline. He emphasized that this year's Ramadan tournaments are part of the Ministry of Youth's vision to empower young talents and provide them with the opportunity to showcase their skills in a positive competitive atmosphere.

These tournaments are part of the ministry's plan to activate sports programs during Ramadan, providing youth with opportunities to spend their time in beneficial activities that promote fair competition and belonging.
