Jordan's travel agencies are calling for caution when disseminating information related to the tourism sector, emphasizing the importance of relying on official and accredited sources to safeguard the industry's reputation and ensure its sustainability amidst current regional circumstances.

The Association of Travel and Tourism Agents stated in a press release that it is the official representative of travel agencies and should be consulted regarding any information or updates pertaining to tourism companies, particularly concerning booking cancellations, tourism traffic volume, and potential future measures. The association stressed that inaccurate or unreliable information could create confusion and harm the interests of those working in the sector.

The association highlighted the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' launch of an operations room to monitor the tourism sector's situation due to regional developments. The ministry is responsible for issuing official statements and updates, including those related to inbound and outbound tourism bookings, cancellation rates, and any regulatory measures taken in response to evolving circumstances, ensuring accurate, transparent information is accessible to all relevant parties.

The association stated it maintains continuous communication and coordination with the ministry and all sector partners to monitor developments and assess their impact on travel programs and existing and future bookings. They are committed to taking necessary measures to ensure business continuity efficiently and responsibly, preserving the Jordanian tourism sector's status as a key pillar of the national economy.

The association reiterated its call for media outlets and social media users to exercise accuracy and responsibility when publishing news related to the tourism sector, relying on data issued by official bodies and the association itself. This approach, it said, contributes to strengthening confidence, protecting the reputation of Jordanian tourism, and supporting efforts to sustain this vital sector.
