Tender for Jordan-Iraq economic city project to be floated this year

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply Dana Al-Zuabi announced on Wednesday the date of the announcement of a bid to the developer for the economic city between Jordan and Iraq, stating that during the first quarter of this year the offer will be announced.

Zuabi told the Voice of the Kingdom program that the most important file between Jordan and Iraq is the establishment of the economic city on the border between the two countries

She added: "During the past phase there have been a number of procedures for the preparation of reference clauses and there will be a developer and the bid will be put forward."

She stressed that in the next phase all details will be announced, noting that there is a meeting between a Jordanian and Iraqi delegation in this regard at the Ministry of Industry. "In the coming days and before the end of this month, details will be announced."

She stressed that Jordanian-Iraqi relations were distinguished at all levels, noting that late last year there were a large number of meetings and mutual visits to Iraq and Jordan, the conclusion of which was the Joint Commission held last month in Baghdad under the chairmanship of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and the agreement on a number of files.
