4.01% higher inflation rate in the kingdom for the first two months of this year

The general consumer price index "inflation” rose in the
first two months of this year 2023 by 4.01% to reach 107.97 against 103.81 for
the same period last year.
The Department of Statistics said in its monthly report on
Monday that one of the most prominent commodity groups contributing to this
rise is the fuel and lighting group by 31.82%, furniture, carpets and
mattresses by 10.41% , culture and entertainment by 10.39% , restaurants and
hotels by 9.48%, oils and fats by 9.46%.
According to the report, the general consumer price index
for February this year rose to 108.32 compared to 103.90 for the same month
last year and marking a rise of 4.25%.
The report showed that what contributed to this rise mainly,
fuel group and lighting by 31.82% , furniture, carpets and mattresses by 10.39%
, culture and entertainment by 10.37% , oils and fats by 9.52%, restaurants and
hotels by 9.50%.
