Edamah launches the organic fertilizer production project in Aqaba

 Under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Nayef Hamidi Al-Fayez, the Edamah Association for Energy, Water and the Environment launched on Thursday the organic fertilizer production project, which it organized in cooperation with the Aqaba Authority and the Ayla Oasis for Development in the city of Aqaba.

  In his opening speech, Al-Fayez stressed the importance of cooperation and concerted efforts between the authority, the private sector and members of the local community to support and implement environmental and pioneering projects and initiatives in the city, in order to preserve the environment and enhance environmental awareness, in order to embody the vision and aspirations of His Majesty King Abdullah II to preserve the marine environment, so that it is  The city of Aqaba is a role model for the rest of the Kingdom's governorates, and a tourist investment destination locally and globally. 

 In turn, the Chairman of the Edamah Board of Directors, Dr. Duraid Mahasneh, welcomed the partners and attendees from hotel representatives and stakeholders, stressing that the launch of the organic composting project in the city of Aqaba will not only contribute to creating a better environment through recycling organic waste from hotels and restaurants to produce organic fertilizer and reduce waste, but also  It will also contribute to providing green job opportunities among young people and providing training programs to empower them and enhance their knowledge. 

 Pointing out that this project comes within the framework of the project to support the circular economy for employment and social integration and combat poverty funded by the European Union, the cross-border cooperation program in the Mediterranean, which is implemented in Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Italy, Spain, Tunisia and Greece.
