Fayez discusses ties with Kazakh counterpart

Senate President Faisal Fayez met on Wednesday with Kazakh Senate Speaker Dariga Nazarbaeva and discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations, as well as the current situation in the region and issues of common concern.

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of Fayez's participation in the Conference of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments, which started yesterday in the Kazakh capital, was attended by Jordanian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Yusuf Bazaia.

During the meeting, Fayez expressed Jordan's pride in the high level of bilateral relations, which are based on mutual respect and cooperation to serve common interests, stressing the keenness of His Majesty King Abdullah II to maintain coordination and unify joint stances on issues of common concern.

Fayez called for building economic partnerships between the two countries, signing more joint agreements, exchanging products, goods and services, and establishing joint investments, especially in the fields of tourism, transport, energy and mining industries, in addition to activating the role of the Jordanian-Kazakh Business Council.

He stressed the need to increase Kazakh investments in Jordan and benefit from its "safe" and "attractive" investment environment.

On the regional arena, he urged the international community to shoulder its moral responsibilities by working hard to end the Syrian crisis and enabling Syrian refugees to return to their homeland.
