Senate president recalls Karamah Battle Anniversary, condemns New Zealand terror attacks

Senate President Faisal Fayez recalled the anniversary of the Battle of Karamah and the great achievement that was made by the Arab army.

During a Senate session on Thursday, Fayez congratulated His Majesty King Abdullah II and members of the Arab army and security agencies as well as all Jordanians on this occasion.

"On the anniversary of the Karamah Battle, we will never forget our martyrs who sacrificed their souls to protect the homeland and defend Arab causes, top of which is the Palestinian issue, and fight the forces of terrorism and extremism," the Senate president said.

He also highlighted the importance of the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem in preventing the Judaization of Jerusalem, pointing to efforts of His Majesty the King and his continues support to the Palestinians to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Senate president also condemned the terror attacks against two mosques in New Zealand that claimed the lives of dozens of worshippers.

Fayez offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
