Ajloun to Get New Schools, Existing Ones to Be Upgraded

AJLOUN, Jordan – Ajloun Governorate is set to see significant improvements in its education infrastructure with the construction of five new schools and the renovation of 57 existing ones.

According to Khaldoun Jowaid, Director of Education for Ajloun Governorate, the new schools aim to alleviate overcrowding and reduce the reliance on rented school buildings.

The schools slated for construction include the Ain Al-Bustan Secondary School for Boys, the Sakharah Basic School, and the Hai Al-Nimr Secondary School for Boys.

Jowaid also noted that the Sakreen Secondary Mixed School project is nearly 40% complete. Additionally, land acquisition is underway for the establishment of the Dahous Basic Mixed School.

Furthermore, the directorate plans to carry out maintenance work on 57 schools, with a budget of 500,000 Jordanian dinars. Efforts are also being made to add classrooms to several schools to combat overcrowding.

Schools receiving additional classrooms include Al-Ameriyah School and Hai Skreen School, each gaining six new classrooms, and Al-Harith Basic Mixed School, also receiving six classrooms. Five additional kindergarten classrooms will be added to various schools.

With the start of the upcoming academic year, three new workshops will be introduced for the BTEC program, specializing in healthcare, early childhood, and sports.

Ajloun Governorate currently has 133 public schools, 24 of which are rented.
