Jordan Launches Aoun Platform to Boost Transparency in Charitable Donations
الأنباط -

Jordan's Ministry of Social Development has launched the 'Aoun' platform, a digital initiative designed to enhance transparency and oversight in charitable giving. The platform aims to streamline the donation process, ensuring that contributions reach those in need efficiently and accountably.

The 'Aoun' platform facilitates legal and electronic donation collection, promoting transparency and oversight while simplifying donation methods through electronic payment options, according to Hanadi Al-Manaseer, Director of Associations at the Ministry of Social Development.

The platform operates under the supervision of relevant authorities to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing charitable organizations. Al-Manaseer noted that bank accounts associated with donation campaigns are not subject to banking secrecy, further enhancing transparency and ensuring donations reach intended beneficiaries.

Currently, 34 charitable organizations are registered on the platform, all of which are subject to established legal and regulatory frameworks. The ministry plans to expand the base of beneficiary associations, strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations and improving coordination among stakeholders.

Organizations seeking to collect donations through the platform must submit an application to the ministry, which is then reviewed by a licensing committee. Upon approval, the organizations are listed on the platform. The application process, currently done directly through the ministry, will transition to an electronic format in the future.

The platform represents a qualitative national achievement in the governance and organization of fundraising procedures, establishing a new phase of institutional charitable work based on transparency and accountability, said Boni Mustafa during a press conference. She emphasized that this ensures donations reach Jordanian families in need with fairness and efficiency.

The Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship initially launched the 'Aoun' platform in a trial format, allowing users to explore its services before officially commencing donation collection. The platform enables citizens to donate easily through available digital payment methods within an official and secure electronic environment.

The 'Aoun' platform is a government digital platform dedicated to organizing and collecting donations for Jordanian families in need, under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development and with technical support from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. It aims to enhance the efficiency of charitable work and ensure that support reaches those who deserve it transparently and reliably through an official and secure digital channel.

The platform provides an easy digital donation experience that allows individuals and companies to support beneficiary families from anywhere and at any time through available electronic payment methods and digital wallets, contributing to simplifying donation procedures and expanding the scope of community participation. The platform serves as a digital link between donors and licensed and officially registered charitable institutions and associations with the Ministry of Social Development, which are responsible for delivering donations to eligible families, while the role of the government platform is limited to organizing the process, tracking it, and monitoring its progress electronically within a mechanism that ensures transparency, reliability, and efficiency in delivering support to those who deserve it.

In cooperation with charitable institutions and associations, the platform focuses on a number of basic support areas for needy families, including the distribution of food baskets to the neediest families, health care, the provision of medicines and treatment, educational support, and support for needy students with school supplies and bags, in addition to supporting childhood by providing milk, diapers and the necessary care, and housing support, which includes rents and home maintenance, with providing clear information about campaigns and continuous updates on progress and results, in order to enhance transparency and trust.
