Organized by Applied Science Private University & Ideal Ideas Foundation:
Orange Jordansponsored the Jordan National Sumo Championship, reaffirming its commitment to empowering young Jordanian talents and supporting their innovations across various digital landscapes.
Jointly organized by the Faculty of Information Technology at the Applied Science Private University and the Ideal Ideas Foundation for Educational Services and Consultations, the competition featured 40 teams of students and young innovators representing schools and universities across the Kingdom.
Participants competed to design, build, and program autonomous sumo robots within an encouraging ecosystem that contributes to developing their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Information Technology, while fostering teamwork and unlocking new opportunities for creativity.
During the competition, which is inspired by the Japanese sumo wrestling, two robots battle by trying to push each other out of the circular ring to showcase the precision of engineering design, programming, as well as the development of game strategies in a fair and structured environment that showcases Jordan’s top talents.
Orange Jordan reaffirmed its strong belief that such competitions serve as a gateway to empowering the next generation in technology and innovation, emphasizing that the excellence of youth is a core pillar in shaping a resilient and sustainable digital future. Guided by this comprehensive approach, and as a trusted digital partner, the company remains dedicated to fostering young creative talents and offering positive opportunities for their growth.
Alongside sponsoring multiple robot competitions and tournaments, Orange Jordan has notably provided mentorship and training to 4 teams participating in the 2025 Sumo Robot Championship through the supportive space of Orange Digital Center’s Fabrication Lab, helping them further develop their skills and fully prepare them to build their own robots, reflecting the company’s efforts to turn youth’s innovative ideas into reality.
