Jordan Launches National Donation Platform 'Aoun' to Boost Transparency
AMMAN - Jordan has officially launched its national donation platform, “Aoun,” designed to streamline charitable giving and ensure aid reaches needy families efficiently and transparently, according to the Minister of Social Development, Wafaa Bani Mustafa.
The platform, which had a trial run for a week, aims to modernize the philanthropic sector by providing a secure and accountable digital space for donations.
Speaking at a press conference, Bani Mustafa emphasized that “Aoun” represents a qualitative national achievement in governing and organizing fundraising procedures.
The platform seeks to establish a new era of institutional charitable work based on transparency and accountability, ensuring donations reach Jordanian families in need fairly and efficiently.
Currently, 34 registered associations are listed on the platform, all of which are subject to applicable legal and regulatory frameworks. The ministry plans to expand the base of beneficiary associations to strengthen partnerships with civil society organizations and improve coordination among relevant parties.
The “Aoun” platform allows citizens to donate easily through available digital payment methods within an official and secure electronic environment.
The platform offers an easy digital donation experience, allowing individuals and companies to support beneficiary families from anywhere at any time via available electronic payment methods and digital wallets, contributing to simplifying donation procedures and expanding the scope of community participation.
The platform serves as a digital link between donors and licensed charitable institutions and associations officially registered with the Ministry of Social Development and spread across the Kingdom's governorates, which are responsible for delivering donations to deserving families.
The government platform's role is limited to organizing, tracking, and monitoring the process electronically within a mechanism that ensures transparency, reliability, and efficient delivery of support to those who deserve it.
In cooperation with charitable institutions and associations, the platform focuses on a number of basic support areas for needy families, including distributing food parcels to the neediest families, healthcare, providing medicines and treatment, supporting education, and supporting needy students with school supplies and bags, as well as supporting childhood by providing milk, diapers and necessary care, and housing support, including rents and home maintenance, while providing clear information about campaigns and continuous updates on progress and results, which enhances transparency and trust.
