China Confirms Citizen Death in Tehran, Evacuates Thousands from Iran

BEIJING – China's Foreign Ministry has confirmed the death of a Chinese citizen in Tehran and the evacuation of over 3,000 nationals from Iran, the ministry announced on Monday.

The ministry stated the evacuation was carried out to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens amidst escalating regional tensions.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized China's willingness to collaborate with the international community to resolve issues through negotiation during a press conference. She reiterated Beijing's opposition to the use of force in international relations.

Following the recent military escalation, the Foreign Ministry urged all parties to cease military operations and expressed grave concern over the widening scope of the conflict.

Furthermore, the ministry condemned the reported U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, characterizing them as violations of international law.

Addressing reports alleging that Iran is procuring missiles from China, the Foreign Ministry denied the veracity of these claims, dismissing what it termed “malicious speculation.”
