ZARQA, Jordan - Authorities in Zarqa have issued warnings to several food establishments for violating health and safety standards during Ramadan, officials said.

A total of 19 warnings and 35 notifications have been issued to various food-related businesses since the start of the holy month, according to the Zarqa Governorate's Public Safety Committee.

These measures followed 123 field visits to restaurants, grocery stores, malls, and supply warehouses, Zarqa Governor Firas Abu Qaoud stated. Inspection teams focused on compliance with health requirements, safe storage practices, the validity of displayed products, and adherence to approved standards.

The Public Safety Committee, in collaboration with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Health and Food Department at the Zarqa Health Directorate, and municipalities, issued the warnings.

Abu Qaoud emphasized that the committee will not compromise on health control standards, stressing that citizen health and food safety are top priorities. He added that all establishments are required to implement health requirements accurately and responsibly.

The Public Safety Committee continues its work around the clock through continuous inspection tours, reflecting a proactive approach to monitoring markets and controlling violations.
