Al-Aqsa Mosque Closure Continues Amidst Heightened Security Measures

Israeli forces have continued the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque for a fourth consecutive day, preventing worshippers from accessing the holy site.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli authorities are citing a state of emergency as the reason for barring Muslims from the mosque. A heavy deployment of Israeli security forces is visible around the mosque and the gates of the Old City, further restricting access to the mosque's courtyards.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque was initially closed on Saturday morning, with worshippers forced to evacuate. Authorities also prevented the performance of Isha and Tarawih prayers within the mosque.

Tensions in the region remain high following reported strikes by Israel and the United States, and retaliatory actions.
