A professor at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, Demosthenes Saryanis, confirmed that "the wave of infection with the (Omicron) mutant of Corona will subside by February 20," which is likely to be the last mutation of Corona.
He said in a statement to "Newsbeast": "The upward trend will continue until next January 20-22, and the average weekly level will reach 66,000 injuries... In practice, this means that there may be days when there are 80,000 or even 100,000 cases. the coronavirus daily.
He added, "Thus, on February 20, that is, a month after the peak of the (Omicron) wave, its peak will actually end, and then the average number of weekly infections will be 3,500 to 4,000 cases, and after that it will be the end of Omicron."
He continued, "A large part of our society will have immunity... Perhaps this will be the last development of the Corona virus.
The Greek scientist stressed: "But even if (Omicron) is the last variant of the Corona virus, which we are noticing, it is very likely that the logic of surrender will not prevail in any way and that we will all get sick easily and end up with it."
The Greek scientist believed that "calculating the average weekly level is a more accurate method than the daily method."
