People who care about the environment urged the preservation of forests and forest wealth to support the stability of the environment and the climate, particularly in light of decreased rainfall, an increase in the number of fires, and forest encroachment. Deforestation has also devastated the environment and lost biodiversity since the phenomena of forest encroachment is one of Jordan's most critical challenges, especially in the winter. It has also become a much bigger problem in recent years.

In a report titled "State of the World's Forests 2022," the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) said that forests provide resources of global significance, spanning nearly one third of the Earth's area and housing the bulk of land biological diversity. However, despite initiatives to halt deforestation and restore degraded land, its survey keeps declining. forests, which store 662 billion tons of carbonate and account for more than half of the world's carbon storage, are essential for reducing climate change.

Dr. Muna Hindiyya, a specialist on the environment and climate change, claimed that the forest is a region of more than 50 dunums with trees taller than 5 meters and a greater than 10% coronary cover. It is one of the places with the highest biodiversity, forms a significant carbon stock, regulates weather and climate, stabilizes soil, controls water flow, offers shade and shelter, provides habitat for pollinators and natural predators of agricultural pests, and helps to ensure food security as well as being a significant source of food, energy, and income.

Al-Anbat was informed that 44% of the carbon in forest soil, 42% of the carbon in living biomass, 8% of the carbon in dead wood, and 5% of the carbon in forest waste are stored. Demonstrating that healthy forests have been shown to be a carbon sink, absorbing carbon over time, and that deforestation results in the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. We lose your service if this sink or the carbon sink vanishes. Due to the amount of carbon they store, their capacity to cool the atmosphere, and their protection from flooding, enhanced forest management offers chances to minimize present and future vulnerability to climate change and further meet mitigation and adaptation goals.

According to Ghassan Al-Ayasra, president of the Green Society for the Protection of Nature and the Environment Any encroachment on forests must not be condoned, and silence must be maintained. Invasion of woods had increased over the previous 10 to 15 years, notably following the Arab Spring. There had also been a spike in fire costs, low living conditions, and a lack of substitutes for inhabitants. Therefore, some had turned to encroaching on woodlands.

He told Al-Anbat that there are various ways that forests are being invaded, citing, among others, the use of firewood for heating and to increase income and the "Woodcutter Mafia's" retaliation as examples. He also mentioned that the Grash Governorate is one of the regions where forest encroachment is most common and has lost about 40% of its forests.
The Ministry of Agriculture failed to provide sophisticated mechanisms and opportunities to reduce forest fires, noting that the Ministry's methods were simple to trace and that the Ministry was relying on traditional methods due to a lack of capacity and mechanisms, which led to an increase in loggers' encroachment on forests.

He asked that the Ministry of Agriculture distribute firewood equally and that no one with a monthly income of more than 500 dinars should receive any, adding that people living next to woods and other public lands had a right to benefit from these resources.

The Royal Department of Environmental Protection and Tourism, Amman National Park Company, and the cadres of the Forestry Directorate reportedly worked together to ambush people who had attacked the forest wealth in the Na'ur area before daybreak this week, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. According to the ministry, a deadly gang attacked the Na 'ur region last summer and at the beginning of this year, and there were several calls for security services.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture/Forestry Directorate, there is extensive coordination for the preservation of forest wealth in all regions of the Kingdom. This collaboration with administrative governance and security agencies, as well as support from citizens interested in forest wealth, has resulted in a decrease in the incidence of encroachments, especially in areas of forest density.
