The International Finance Corporation, a branch of the World
Bank dedicated to support private investors, based in Washington, announced on
Friday, the provision of a package of assistance to the Ukrainian private
sector amounting to two billion dollars, according to the Washington Post.
The organization said in a statement that this aid is
supposed to "meet the immediate needs of the war-ravaged private sector,
and help prepare for reconstruction."
The organization will finance half of the aid package, while
the other half will depend on the guarantees given by donor governments.
Since the conflict began, the World Bank has provided about
$18 billion to the Ukrainian government to allow it to maintain basic public
services and infrastructure resources.
