The Suez Canal, the world's largest and newest container ship, crossed the south convoy by the shipping stream of the New Suez Canal on its maiden voyage from Malaysia to the Netherlands.

The "EVER ATOP" giant container vessel has a huge dimension, measuring 400 meters long, 61.5 meters wide, 16.30 meters submersible and 224 tons of cargo, exceeding the capacity of 24 thousand containers.

The head of the Canal Authority, General Osama Rabi, confirmed that the successive transit of the newest and largest container vessels through the Suez Canal is a certificate of confidence in its ability to receive present and future generations of container vessels globally. Emphasizing the Channel's potential, it made it the ideal choice to cross giant container vessels engaged in the transport of global east-west trade.
