GDP increasing 4.9% in the middle of 2022

Jordan GDP was increased during the first half of 2022 by 4.9% compared with the same period of last year 2021.

According to statistical data of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, GDP at current prices during the first half of the year amounted 15.921 Billion JD, compared with 15.182 Billion JD in the same period last year.

According to data based on official figures, the contribution of the trade and services sector to GDP at current prices for the first half of year was 54.7%, distributed in trade restaurant and hotel sector by 8.8% and transportation and communication by 8.4%.

The percentage was also distributed among the financial, real estate and business services sectors by20.3%, agricultural and fishing sector by 4.1%, construction by 3%, the electricity and water 1.3% and personal and public sector by 8.8%.
