Ayla” and "the Jordanian Marathon Association” Prepare for seventeenth ‘Ayla Red Sea Half-Marathon’

Ayla Oasis Development Company and the Jordan Marathon Association have completed all logistical and technical preparations for hosting the seventeenth ‘Ayla Red Sea Half-Marathon’ to take place on the 2nd of December.

Both Ayla and the Jordan Marathon Association teams have continued to work over the course of the past few weeks to prepare for this year’s race in a unique way in comparison to the previous years. This was done in hopes of promoting sports tourism that joins bodies of water and greenery in a unique project of trying to merge both worlds of sports and tourism together.

‘Ayla’s Red Sea Half- Marathon’ is held in cooperation with Aqaba’s Special Economic Zone Authority as part of Aqaba’s 2022 activity calendar and Ayla’s strategy to support sports and community sectors. In addition to supporting the youth to shed light on Jordan as a hub for local, regional, and international sports competitions.

At this years ‘Ayla’s Red Sea Half-Marathon’, the race will be segmented into three parts in addition to the children’s race. The path for the half marathon covers 10 kilometers and 21 kilometers.

Ayla’s Managing Director, Sahl Dudin expressed his happiness for hosting the marathon at Ayla, in which they have completed the preparations for this important sporting event that they host annually. This comes as part of the company’s efforts to encourage running enthusiasts from across the Kingdom and world to take part in running to spread awareness about sports culture and health.  Additionally, this will shed light on the tourism opportunities within the Kingdom and specifically, Aqaba. The theme of this year’s marathon was to merge tourism and sports while also merging bodies of water and greenery for tourist destinations.

Dudin stressed that the strategic partnership that ties Ayla with the Jordanian Marathon Association reflects both sides eagerness to instill the love of running in individuals to promote health and fitness.

Jordan Marathon Association’s General Manager, Lina Al-Kurd extended her gratitude to Ayla Oasis Development Company for their huge efforts in supporting and hosting the race in its new edition embracing sports, bringing awareness to health culture, especially to the youth; all in which align with the association’s vision and approach.

It is worth mentioning that Ayla Oasis Development Company is considered a hub for hosting major sporting events on a national level given its spectacular infrastructure, all in which align as part of the company’s vision to promote local sports activity in the governate of Aqaba.
