21 million JD, the cost of bidding for the implementation of the first phase of Zarqa Industrial City

The Board of Directors of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company decided to refer a tender for the implementation of the first phase of Zarqa Industrial City to a local contracting company at a total cost of 21 million JD.

In a statement by the company, today, Saturday, the Board, in its meeting chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Louay Sahweil, and in the presence of the General Director of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company, Omar Juwaid, confirmed that the referral of the bid and the start of the implementation of the project are among the priorities of the government’s work for the years 2021-2023, which aims to bring about development in various regions of the Kingdom and to provide more job opportunities for Jordanian youth, in addition to making the Jordanian industrial cities the ideal environment for industrial investment through investment advantages and support services they provide that facilitate the work of industrial investment.

Juwaid said that the first phase of the Zarqa Industrial City project includes the development of 1,116 dunams out of 4,700 dunams of the total area of the city, which will be developed in several stages, the first of which includes excavation works and leveling of industrial plots on an area of 22 thousand square meters, in addition to infrastructure networks such as water, electricity, communications, street lighting, and firefighting, as well as the city’s administrative buildings, which include service buildings and water tanks. It is expected that the implementation of the first phase will extend for about 3 years.

Juwaid stressed the importance of establishing the industrial city in Zarqa, which is located 30 kilometers to the east of the city towards Azraq and 15 kilometers from the free zone in Zarqa. It is characterized by its strategic location close to the international roads leading to Iraq, Syria, and Saudi Arabia, which made it a center of attention and a point of attraction for investors, in addition to stimulating existing industrial projects in the region to work within its borders and take advantage of the advantages and incentives that will be provided within it, similar to other industrial cities managed by the Jordanian Industrial Cities Company, similar to other industrial cities managed by the Jordanian Industrial Cities Company. It is spread throughout the various governorates of the Kingdom, in addition to the abundance of manpower and its proximity to housing and service areas.

Juwaid expected that the industrial city of Zarqa, once ready, would attract many industrial investments in many productive fields, such as the food, chemical, packaging, engineering, and other industries.

The Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation has issued a tender to implement the first phase of the industrial city project in Zarqa Governorate after the company completed the necessary studies for the project, which included the environmental impact and the re-updating of the necessary designs for the city, which will be implemented according to the plans in three phases distributed over the total area of the city, which is 4700 dunam.

And it is mentioned that the Jordan Industrial Estates Company has finally completed the construction works for the first stages of the new industrial cities in the governorates of Salt, Madaba, and Tafileh and started its promotional plans to attract industrial investments to them, while the pace of work and production continues in the industrial cities operating in Sahab, Muwaqar, Karak, Irbid, Aqaba, and Mafraq Industrial.
