Al-‘Imoush: The Consumer Association's role is to raise awareness and provide guidance.
The head of restaurants and sweets, Omar Al-Awwad, said: "There is no direct reason for the decline in demand for sweets in Jordan, attributing this to the generally low economic situation in most sectors."
Al-Awad pointed out in exclusive statements to "Al-Anbat"that the decline in the prices of sweets is not less than 60% compared to last year, calling on the Ministry of Industry and Trade to set pricing ceilings for merchants to improve the reality of the local market.

The media advisor of the Consumer Protection Association, Dr. Hussein Al-‘Imoush, said that it is normal to decrease the purchasing capacities of citizens with the beginning of the winter season because there are more important priorities than buying sweets, such as heating, bread, and gas, in addition to the start of the school season and the subsequent material supplies that burden the family, and therefore its income is distributed on more urgent things than buying sweets.

On price control programmes, he explained to "Al-Anbat" that the role of the association is to raise awareness, provide guidance and prepare studies ,while the executive role is one of the tasks of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
