Economist Mazen Irsheed stressed that the approach to green economy transformation has been activated in many countries of the world, and regions of the Asian continent, as well as the European Union and the United States, and that what matters to the economically developed countries is the existence of an elaborate plan and the gradual transformation of this approach, as the country that precedes the rest Countries in this sector will have an economic advantage through the flow of foreign investments, building and opening new factories and giving them customs and tax advantages, thus developing the state's economy.

He added that Jordan's arrival at an advanced stage in the green economy will benefit it economically with the influx of new investments, and in tourism by increasing the number of tourists to classify it as an environmentally safe country, calling on Jordan to start the process of rapid transformation, and that its failure to reach the green economy approach in 2033 will lead to damages. At least a marketing campaign for the country in terms of tourism, investment, export, and others... In addition, this transformation opens new and non-traditional markets, and provides job opportunities in various fields for local labor, both professional and academic.

Irsheed continued, that the challenge is represented in the implementation process of the ten-year roadmap for growth and the green economy, pointing out that the support directed to Jordan in this file is very scarce and is negligible by the international community and international organizations concerned with the green economy, explaining that the transition to a green economy has benefits. Several countries' economy, as there is no great commitment to the approach to transformation locally, stressing at the same time that there are no clear foundations for rapid or gradual transformation.

And he included an example about the government's philosophy when it cancels the tax benefits for electric cars from subsidizing and reducing the tax, and then in a short period raises them again for a longer period than it was in the past, this leads the citizen to move away from the idea of using electric cars and return to cars that work On fuel, which in turn increases carbon emissions, stressing at the same time that Jordan lacks a clear strategy to reduce carbon emissions, whether from cars, factories, or the use of materials that reduce the process of carbon emissions harmful to the environment.

In his diagnosis of the state of the green economy file in Jordan, Irsheed added that no new markets have been opened related to alternative renewable energy for energy that depends on the emission of harmful carbon materials, in addition to the work on creating a green economy structure that will expand the fields of specialization in academic universities. Which in turn will increase the opening of new markets and provide a lot of job opportunities.

The Jordanian government had launched the green growth sector vision for the year 2033 and the strategic roadmap for the period 2022-2033, as Jordan has a strong starting point for a future green growth path that responds to climate change.

In the same context, economic expert Hossam Ayesh said that it is difficult to evaluate a strategy once it is launched, especially since it is the first time that Jordan has set a road map for achieving growth and a green economy, as there is no doubt that the strategy was prepared by experts, in addition to the existence of aspirations for how to implement it.

He pointed out that the juice learned from the development of the strategic plan is in its application on the ground to achieve its goals through its implementation plans, pointing out at the same time that the government developed many strategies in the past, but it did not find implementation on the ground due to the change of governments from time to time, especially The strategies require sufficient time to implement, which made it the biggest and most prominent challenge to the implementation of these strategies.

Ayesh agreed with Irsheed about the benefit of transforming the economic sectors into green sectors, especially as it works to attract external financing, grants and international aid, which began focusing on this aspect, at a time when Jordan is looking to keep grants and aid continuing, so the label "green" is given to economic sectors.

And he indicated that the interest in Jordan's transition to an advanced stage in the green economy is equal to the interest in new upcoming changes that will affect the performance of the economy, in addition to its importance for evaluating countries regarding how they carry out their economic activities, especially as the world is witnessing major changes, whether in terms of energy, climate, environment and economic sectors favorable to changes. backward, and it means that Jordan is trying to be more consistent with what is happening in the world.

For his part, the economist Wajdi Makhamra said that some reports indicate that the water, tourism, agriculture, industry, energy and waste management sectors have great opportunities to generate decent, sustainable and direct jobs if they depend on alternative and renewable energy sources and recycling technologies, adding that what results from green projects that depend on Alternative and recycled sources, a significant reduction in various expenditures such as energy and water.

Al-Makhamreh pointed out that it is necessary to promote green economic activities in economic facilities and work to support environment-friendly production in the use of resources in Jordan, pointing out that promoting the transition to a green economy in Jordanian industries and companies contributes to increasing the competitiveness of companies, enhancing their production capabilities, reducing their operating expenses and creating More job opportunities, and therefore the green growth plan comes to enhance this and achieve sustainable economic growth and achieve the economic vision that was previously announced.

It is worth noting that Jordan ranks very far behind in the Global Green Economy Index. According to the World Green Economy Index for 2022, Jordan ranks 108 out of 160 countries.
