Al-Rawajbeh: Digital Transformation is a Key Pillar for Improving Kingdom's Investment Environment

The representative of the Communications and Information Technology Sector of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Engineer Haytham Al-Rawajbeh, stressed that digital transformation is a key pillar for improving the business environment, improving it and attracting external investments.

In a statement on Saturday, Engineer Al-Rawajbeh said that business owners and investors are directing their investments to countries with ready and advanced infrastructure on digital transformation and service automation, calling for establishment a specialized digital transformation commission in partnership between the public and private sectors.

He added that the countries of the region today have accelerated changes in the digital transformation file, which requires working to keep pace with these developments by accelerating digital transformation in the Kingdom, building digital capacities, stimulating digital creativity and trade.

Engineer Al-Rawajbeh explained that digital transformation helps to develop economic plans based on real data, pointing to government services provided through the application (Sanad), which has doubled significantly in recent times.

He added that digital transformation requires a focus on research and development and training of manpower on new technology that is accelerating in the world, stressing that digital transformation will also contribute to increase government revenues and improving services provided to citizens.

Noting that the vision of economic modernization stressed the need to accelerate the digital transformation of the public sector through partnerships with the private sector, which has considerable experience in this regard, he pointed out that many Jordanian companies have implemented digital transformation projects in Arab countries.

He drew attention to the great interest of international companies in opening regional offices in the Kingdom to serve the countries of the region and benefit from Jordanian expertise and competencies working in the communications and information technology sector.

He indicated that the Jordanian’s communications and information technology sector has pillars that made it a sector with great growth and prosperity opportunities, with a robust and advanced digital infrastructure, globally competitive human resources and a range of laws and legislation that included many incentives.

He pointed out that Jordanian companies operating in the communications and information technology sector had come a long way in their development and growth and had become supportive of many countries in the region by providing digital transformation solutions to their various business and service sectors.

And he assured that the 5G services introduction will enhance the Kingdom's competitiveness and accelerate the technical development of the communications and information technology sector as well as support the investment environment, in line with the vision of economic modernization.
