The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance in the Gaza Strip, Awni Al-Basha, confirmed that there is a financial crisis that the official institution in the Strip is suffering from, and that it affects the rate of disbursing the salaries of its employees next month.
Al-Basha explained in a press statement on Saturday, that the causes of the crisis are due to the government’s bearing of a number of increases in the prices of some commodities, especially fuels, which the government undertook to bear to relieve the citizen, which led to the accumulation of the financial deficit.
Al-Basha denied the circulating talk about the absence of salaries for the month of July, stressing that the percentage of salaries was affected as a result of the decline in revenues and the existing crisis, hoping that a recovery will take place soon and we will get out of this crisis as soon as possible.
He pointed out that the ministry had in recent months been forced to borrow from local banks to be able to disburse the salary on time, explaining that it had prepared a plan to overcome the financial deficit, which would affect many aspects of disbursement and expenditures such as operating budgets of ministries and capital expenditures.
