Data from the World Bank Group shows that since the start of the year, the World Bank has committed $547 million to Jordan through regular and emergency loan and project programs.
According to Al-Mamlaka Channel, the Bank and Jordan inked three programs and projects between January and June of this year with the intention of assisting efforts to boost the exports of Jordanian industry, support national operating programs, and the social protection system.
The World Bank granted $112 million in funds at the beginning of this year to support Jordan's strategy to promote employment and skill development in the private industry.
For a $350 million emergency cash transfer project for families and workers affected by the coronavirus epidemic in Jordan, the government and the World Bank signed a second additional funding agreement in April, raising the total funding for the project to $1.014 billion.
The project intends to directly assist more than 500 export-oriented businesses through the Fund's programs and raise at least an extra $17 million in private finance.
