The head of the Jordan
and Amman Chambers of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, confirmed that the
industrial sector is the most employing sector for the national workforce, as
the number of workers in the industrial sector is about (250) thousand male and
female workers, supporting more than one million citizens, in addition to the
new job opportunities provided by this sector annually.
Jaghbir added, during
his sponsorship of the celebration held by the Makkah Press on the occasion of
the announcement of the opening of its new building, that what distinguishes
the Jordanian industry is its ability to develop its production lines in line
with the emerging conditions, in addition to its follow-up to the latest
technology that is used in various industrial sectors, Where the Chamber works to support the
participation of industrialists in international exhibitions to promote
industrial products, in addition to organizing visits for industrial
delegations to specialized exhibitions to see the most important developments
related to production lines and packaging of international products to benefit
from them in developing their products, noting that the Jordanian industry has
proven its ability to provide the needs of Citizens of basic industries
such as food, medicine, detergents, etc.
For his part, the
representative of the packaging, paper and cardboard sector in the Jordan
Chamber of Industry, Abdul Hakim Zaza, indicated that the packaging sector is
one of the main pillars of the industrial sector and the national economy, and
it provides outstanding contributions in terms of production and operation,
supporting other sectors and enabling them to produce and flow their goods.

Zaza pointed out that
the number of the sector’s facilities reached 900 facilities spread throughout
the Kingdom, providing 15,000 job opportunities amid a production capacity of
more than 1.5 billion dollars annually, which constitutes 9 percent of the
volume of industrial production in the country, while the exports of this
sector constitute about 16 percent of the total national exports.
The Director General
of Makkah Press, Ahmed Al-Badawi, explained that this printing press, which was
established in the year 2003 with a number of employees not exceeding (3), and
was updated over the years until it was moved to its new location, to be
established on an area of more than 4500 square meters, will provide job
opportunities for (65) male and female workers, praising the Amman
Chamber of Industry’s support for industrial companies, participating in
internal and external exhibitions, to encourage them to develop their products
in line with market needs, praising the Amman Chamber of Industry’s role in
adopting industrialists’ issues with various ministries and official bodies
concerned with industrial work, and work to solve the obstacles facing these
companies. The head of the Syndicate of Press Owners, Muhammad Al-Abbasi,
indicated that the new Syndicate Council will work to find solutions to the
problems faced by the printing presses, through cooperation with the chambers
of industry and the representative of the sector. Which leads to the organization
of the work of these presses within the legal framework.
