Charge daffaires of the Panamanian Embassy: Signing soon a flight agreement between Jordan and Panama

The Charge d'affaires of the Panamanian Embassy in Amman, Rolando Hamblin, said that preparations were under way for the signing of a civil aviation agreement between his country and Jordan.
He stressed that Jordan was an example of security and stability, especially since it was present in that region, where various developments and events had taken place.
In a press meeting on Monday , on the occasion of his country's national holiday, he noted that the deep and distinctive relations between the two friendly countries and the efforts made to strengthen them, build on what has been achieved and expand cooperation in various areas.
The volume of trade between the two countries was modest and required development and the opening of new avenues, reviewing meetings with the private and public sectors and the Amman Chamber of Industry and preparing trade visits with a view to enhancing cooperation in that sector.
Jordan's diplomatic representation in Panama was important in order to enhance cooperation, facilitate visits by delegations, investors and tourists and facilitate access to visas.
He referred to a number of cooperation agreements signed between the two countries, including a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and an agreement with the University of Jordan.
His country relied heavily on the services and shipping sector. Calls for the exchange of experiences between Jordan and Panama in the area of shipping and logistics.
His country owned the Panama Canal, a waterway connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, which served to shorten the distance and accessibility of ships to Latin American countries, had free trade agreements with many countries, most importantly the United States of America and Central American countries, and was a commercial distributor of Latin American countries because of their geographical location.
He explained that Jordan is a distinct geographical location in the region as its gateway. This could be used to promote trade and economic cooperation and exchange of experience between the two countries.
It drew Panama's high appreciation for Jordan's strong and effective response to the issue of refugees and its opening of its borders and heart to them, He stressed the importance of the international community's support for Jordan to enable it to continue this important humanitarian role.
He said Panama supported Jordan's position for a two-State solution was the only solution to the Palestinian cause, explaining the pivotal role of Jordan, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in achieving peace and stability in the region.
He stressed the important role played by the Panamanian Embassy in Amman after its opening in 2019 in building and strengthening relations with Jordan and the States of the region in particular, since Jordan held an important position in the region.
