FM partakes in opening session of UN General Assembly

 Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Tuesday participated in the opening session of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

On the sidelines of the session, Safadi held a series of meetings and talks with a number of counterparts and officials attending UNGA, focusing on ties and Middle East issues.

Safadi met with Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Malki as part of the Jordanian-Palestinian coordination and action to create a real political horizon that paves the way for ending the occupation and achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

The two ministers discussed ways to mobilize international support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to be able to continue providing its vital services to more than five million Palestinian refugees in the health, relief, and educational fields in its five areas of operation.
