Al-Anbat - Jordan on Sunday will be affected by a relatively cold, humid air mass accompanied by a depression centered over Sypris, pushing temperatures down and bringing partly cloudy skies, with rainfall in various parts of the Kingdom.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), the rain is forecast to turn heavy at times, causing floods in valleys and low-lying areas, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia regions.

The weather department also warned of poor visibility due to fog and dust formation in highlands and the Badia regions, and of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain in addition to flash floods.

On Monday, the Kingdom will remain under the impact of the relatively cold and wet air depression, so relatively cold and cloudy condition will continue with a weak chance of light showers in the northern and central areas of the country, the JMD said.

Clouds will gradually decrease during the evening as the weather will start to stabilize, while winds will be westerly moderate, the JMD added.

Mercury levels will rise again on Tuesday, so fair weather conditions will prevail nationwide, with low altitude clouds and southeasterly moderate winds, the department further said.

Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 18 degrees Celsius in Amman, 14 in the northern cities and 15 in the southern highlands, dropping down at night to 10, 9 and 5C respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 27 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 17 degrees at night.
