Readers Bookshop recently hosted an event celebrating the launch of the Arabic edition of R. James Breiding’s SWISS MADE: The Untold Story Behind Switzerland's Success, which was released by Geneva-based John McCarthy Publishing, the first publisher of Arabic language books in Switzerland. The event was attended by literary enthusiasts and representatives from the media, as well as publisher John McCarthy and Head of Diplomatic Affairs of the Embassy of Switzerland in Jordan, Alexandra Häfliger.

Breiding’s gripping new book gives a never-before-seen glimpse behind the curtain at Switzerland, which continues to prosper despite its small size and limited natural advantages. Today, Swiss companies compete at the highest international levels in banking, pharmaceuticals, machinery, and even textiles, begging the question – what is the secret to their success? The answer, along with a wealth of interesting information and insight, can be found in SWISS MADE – which is at last available to Arabic readers around the world.

“The written word is essential in advancing knowledge and sharing cultures, and books like SWISS MADE offer us a unique opportunity to gain greater understanding about the world beyond our borders,” said Imad Bukhari, CEO of THE Group. “Readers Bookshop is honored to host such esteemed guests as John McCarthy and Alexandra Häfliger, and I would like to thank them for their contribution to this outstanding literary accomplishment.”

Since opening in 2007, Readers has established itself as the leading bookshop in the Kingdom. With two branches – located at Cozmo Centre Seventh Circle and Taj Lifestyle in Abdoun – Readers offers its customers an extensive collection of books, covering an array of genres designed to excite and inspire avid book lovers and new readers alike.
