Senate President Faisal Fayez on Sunday commended the efforts of the Operations Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Jordan, Roger Davies, who completed his tenure in the Kingdom.

On the Palestinian cause, the Senate President stressed the Kingdom's position in support of the two-state solution which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Chairman of the Senate's Palestine Committee Senator Haya al-Qarala, said the meeting was held to honor Davies' efforts, stressing that the committee is carries out regular field visits to oversee the quality of the services provided to them.

Davies pointed to the efforts Jordan has exerted to solve the UNRWA's financial crisis, noting the Kingdom has been shouldering a great burden after many Palestinians took refuge in it.
