Al-Anbat - Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament , Atef Tarawneh, urged to expand the umbrella of the general pardon law to include the maximum possible number of crimes not provided in the bill, as reflected in the Royal directive to alleviate the challenges and burdens facing citizens.

Tarawneh, while presiding over part of the first meeting of the parliamentary legal committee, which started on Sunday to discuss the 2019 amnesty bill, said: There are crimes that can not be approved by the draft law, but need separate government decisions away from the bill, including university students’ debts, indebted women, and as well as interest on the farmers' loans.

He called on including non-dangerous traffic fines, as well as certain crimes to reconciliation with the victims or their families that leads to dropping charges on the part of the plaintiffs.
