House to elect its permanent office on the evening session

Al-Anbat - (Petra)- Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Atef Tarawneh, said the Speech from the Throne and the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II are an inspiration of an action programme on all tracks.

Tarawneh made the remarks after winning the House speakership, voicing commitment of the legislative authority to "work collaboratively to counter all the challenges we face" to reach a resilient economy and a safe and stable life, through a society armed with knowledge.

During the session, Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, congratulated Tarawneh over winning the House speakership, stressing the government's keenness on the "true" partnership with the Lower House to work in the spirit of one team to reach a state of law, accomplishment and solidarity as His Majesty always wanted.

The House will elect the remaining members of the permanent office (two deputy speakers and two aides), in addition to the election of its twenty committees.
