China reports 45 COVID-19 cases Saturday

Forty-five COVID-19 cases were recorded in mainland China Saturday, a decrease from yesterday's 127, according to Chinese health officials.

The National Health Commission said in a statement 31 of the newly recorded infections were recorded in the autonomous region of Xinjiang, 23 of which were asymptomatic.

The caseload in mainland China stands at 84,337 as the death toll tops 4,634, the Commission said.
