More than 15 people were injured when a liquid nitrogen line ruptured at a Textron Aviation's manufacturing plant in Wichita, Kansas, authorities said Friday.
Sedgwick County's Emergency Medical Services Director, John Gallagher, said 11 people were taken to the hospital by EMS crews, while two others were treated at the explosion site. One patient had "potentially serious injuries," Gallagher added.
The county's Fire Deputy Chief, Daniel Wegner, stated that a skeleton crew was working inside the plant at the time due to the Christmas holiday.
Textron Aviation spokeswoman, Stephanie Harder, said the impact was contained to Plant 3 where SkyCourier, a twin-turboprop utility aircraft under development by the company, was located.
